The dangers of processed food is the latest in book series

The rise of the processed food industry — and what that means in terms of obesity and other health issues — will be the latest subject in a discussion series about popular books led by NC State professors.

saltsugarfat-197x300On Thursday, Aug. 8, the book Salt Sugar Fat: How the Food Giants Hooked Us, by Michael Moss, will be discussed during the latest Read Smart event sponsored by Friends of the Library of North Carolina State University. The event will be at 7 p.m. at the Cameron Village Regional Library in Raleigh. It is free and open to the public.

The discussion will be moderated by Allen Foegeding, William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professor of food, bioprocessing and nutrition sciences at NC State.
