Alumni Association offering series of career webinars

With the economy still sputtering, there are a plenty of people who could use a little help finding a job – be it a recent college grad trying to kickstart their career or someone already in the workforce who is ready to make a change.

The Alumni Association, with the help of a handful of NC State alums who work in career services, is offering a series of webinars over the coming year focused on tips for landing that next great job. There will be webinars on how to write a winning resume, how to make your LinkedIn page work harder for you and how to perform your best in a job interview.

“It’s a way to reach a broad alumni base,” says Catherine Tuttle, alumni career services coordinator for the Alumni Association.

The first two webinars will be open to all alumni, but subsequent webinars will be for Alumni Association members only. Once the webinars are aired, they will remain available to members on the Alumni Association website to be watched at any time. There is no charge to watch the webinars, either live or later on the Alumni Association website.  The full schedule for the webinars for 2013 can be found here.

“It’s career information on your schedule,” Tuttle says.

Tuttle says the series is designed to serve the needs of a wide range of job seekers, from students fresh out of college looking for their first job to mid-career professionals looking to find the proper work/life balance.
