Alumni in Portland and Seattle gathered over the weekend to make some new Wolfpack connections and get an Alumni Association briefing on news from campus.
The weekend’s festivities kicked off with a gathering Friday at Matt’s in the Market in Seattle, where alumni also heard from John F. Muth, a professor of electrical and computer engineering at NC State.
On Saturday, more than 60 Portland-area alumni and their families gathered for the 16th annual Return to Raleigh picnic at Garden Vineyards in Hillsboro, Oregon, hosted by the Portland Alumni Network.
They also heard from Muth, and were able to enjoy some authentic North Carolina barbecue (from Kings Restaurant in Kinston), fried chicken, beans and coleslaw. They were even able to order barbecue by the pound to take home for later. Two couples even traveled from Seattle for the Portland event, including Seattle network leader Ryan Hester.
