0008794-showNC State head men’s basketball coach Mark Gottfried is hosting an event for former Wolfpack basketball players Friday night. The gathering is an attempt by Gottfried to get together with the NC State basketball family in an informal setting.

“There’s no real agenda other than to shake hands and to have a good night together,” he says.

Not having played at NC State, Gottfried says the event will give him a chance to communicate to former players that he wants to be a part of the program for a long time.

“It gives me and our coaching staff an opportunity to meet former players, get to know them better,” he says. “For the players from different generations and different eras to interact with one another. So we’re looking forward to that night.”

Hello Coach Gottfried! I am an alumni of NC State and Miss Wolfpack (homecoming queen) many years ago. I was at State in the David Thompson, Monte Towe, Tommy Burleson days. I am super proud today! You have helped put NC State back on the map. Your enthusiasm and leadership has been obvious as we all watcher the thrillers in the Acc tournament. Lets “dance like nobody’s wathcing” in the NCAA Tournament! Go Pack!
