picture-056The Alumni Association continues to host Senior Send-Offs throughout the state to welcome high school seniors into the NC State family.

One of the stops this week was Buncombe County, where about 30 incoming NC State freshman were joined by their parents, friends and NC State alumni at Lake Julian Park in Asheville. The Buncombe County group was led by Emory Pitts, the network leader for the area and a member of the Alumni Association board of directors.

After a barbecue picnic catered by Three Little Pigs, the incoming students heard presentations on the value of building social and professional networks as soon as they start at NC State. Some of the parents were excited to hear about the ongoing renovation of the Talley Student Center.
