The perfect treat for Spring: Liquid nitrogen ice cream

NC State’s Department of Chemistry is probably not the first group you would think of when looking for a cool, spring treat to snack on.

But if you’re near campus this afternoon, you might want to stop by the Technology Sandbox in the West Wing of D.H. Hill Library for a taste of liquid nitrogen ice cream.

That’s right, the chemistry department and Alpha Chi Sigma are serving what they call Frozen Delights: Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream. It’s free and available to the public from 2-3 p.m.

It’s part of a celebration of the International Year of Chemistry. The events include this weekend’s Scope Academy.

It’s really good!! Alpha Chi Sigma is a great organization that does a lot of chemistry outreach and community service projects. Not to mention, a great group of people to hang out with!

I wish I could have tried it. Unfortunately, I was busy in a meeting.

How can one be part of this organization? I am a chemistry major and would be honored to be part of this organization.
