Some of the best soccer players to ever take the field for the Wolfpack are returning to campus this weekend to take on the current men’s team.

Kelly Findley, the new head coach of the men’s team, has invited former players to dust off their cleats for a match of new vs. old. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at Dail Soccer Field. Admission is free.

Among those who have indicated they will attend are former All-Americans Henry Gutierrez, Dario Brose and Sam Okpudo. Some of the former All-ACC players who have said they will attend are Kirk Peat, Alan Sanchez and Arnold Siegmund.

The alumni players will be led by Ronnie Bouemboue, a former player who is director of soccer operations for the men’s team.

Brose, one of nine NC State players to make the ACC’s 50th Anniversary Men’s Soccer Team,  is looking forward to getting together with different generations of NC State soccer players.

“It will be fun to see the faces, just connect a little bit,” he said. “I know several players from the generations that came after me. In recent years, I really didn’t get to know any of the players at all.”

Brose, who coaches youth soccer in the Triangle, said the older guys will try not to discourage the current players.

“We’ll probably let them score a couple of goals,” he said.
