Here’s some behind-the-scenes footage from the new NC State commercial that was filmed yesterday on Centennial Campus and will debut on ESPN during the Sept. 3 game against South Carolina. If you saw any of the spots from last year, you’ll see a familiar face.

“Integrate campus life”. I had to stop watching halfway through. It’s a commercial for the UNIVERSITY, campus life should be a no-brainer.

Does no one else see the problem in paying agency dollars to shoot a commercial like this with university (ie: public) funds – especially during such a financial crisis?

What would have been SO impossible about having the brand management & marketing, business management, communications, and PR programs team up and do a really great senior or independent study project on this?

Guess there’s nothing we can do about it now… the money’s spent.

Although, I would imagine even local big agency McKinney would’ve done it as a pro bono project, too.

Thanks for the comment. Technician had an editorial about the new spots this morning.

I truly hope it is improved as stated in the Technician editorial. Last year’s commercial was nothing but a slick actor repeating totally meaningless platitudes. The commercial was awful.
I am really skeptical about this years commercial given its the same director and actor.

As a NYer, NC State alumni, the only high point of tonight’s game was NC State’s commercial.
I’ve spent years explaining that “NO, I didn’t go to UNC, it’s NC State in Raleigh.”

I’ve always said that State was a hipper, more urban, perhaps a more sophisticated school than that country club in Chapel Hill.

Tonight’s spot was really slick and certainly presented State as the school I remember: Lots of clever kids doing interesting things in a school that is far cry from a Moo U!
The football team was dreadful but I want to compliment the folks behind the NC State commercial. I loved it and I’m sure it was attractive to potential out-of-state students looking for an off beat choice in a college.
