WRAL followed along as Coach Tom O’Brien took some of his players to Camp Lejeune to visit with the Wounded Warrior Battalion. The front page of Friday’s N&O sports section featured the visit and has a photo gallery and story:

“Our guys think they are special,” O’Brien said. “I think it’s important that they are around a bunch of people that are really special, that have done so much to keep us free and protect us.”

Also, the Indianapolis Star wrote about Scott Wood, an incoming freshman sharpshooter who chose Sidney Lowe ’83 and the Wolfpack over Indiana and Purdue. We like how he thinks:

“My family was pretty much split down the middle between IU and Purdue fans,” Wood said. “Not me. I was a Duke fan. Now I get to beat them twice a year.”

Update: WRAL’s embed code was causing problems with the blog’s sidebar, so we had to take down the video of the football team’s visit. The first link in this post will take you to the WRAL story, and this will take you straight to the video.
